How will you shape our tomorrow

The Network Security Architect serves as one of the highest-level subject matter experts for network security across the Sonepar Group. This role drives technical strategy, architecture direction, and advisory oversight for network protection, segmentation, secure connectivity, and cyber defense enablement. Operating as a trusted strategic advisor to all the Group’s OpCos and architecture councils, the role ensures a resilient, scalable, and threat-aware network security posture aligned with business growth, digital transformation, and Zero Trust evolution. The Network Security Architect collaborates with other security teams to ensure that network security aligns with the overall security strategy and organizational goals. The role blends deep hands-on technical mastery with architectural influence, stakeholder leadership, and long-horizon strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Sonepar’s guidance authority on network security strategy, direction, and best-practice adoption.
  • Shape and publish the multiyear network security roadmap aligned with enterprise architecture, cloud modernization, security engineering, and business priorities.
  • Act as strategic evaluator for new technologies, M&A integration, and modernization initiatives (SASE, SD-WAN, ZTNA, micro-segmentation, Secure Edge, Wi-Fi).
  • Provide strategic direction for core protective services such as firewalling, network segmentation, secure remote access, and cloud edge security.
  • Lead design principles, reference architectures, and secure network patterns across datacenter, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Define and document foundational security controls and ensure consistent implementation across global networks and third-party interconnections.
  • Oversee secure design reviews for business applications, OT connectivity, cloud migration programs, and vendor integrations.
  • Drive the adoption of Zero Trust Network Architecture, identity-centric access security, and software-defined segmentation.
  • Ensure that all network security measures are properly documented and configured to protect against unauthorized access, breaches, and other security threats.
  • Establish structured reporting to OpCos covering roadmap progress, adherence to network-security standards, identified compliance gaps, associated operational risks, and required decisions or escalations to maintain alignment across initiatives.
  • Partner with SOC, Threat Intelligence, and Incident Response to evolve defensive controls based on attack techniques and kill-chain models.
  • Own and maintain enterprise network security policies, design standards, and minimum control baselines.
  • Champion automation, observability, and AI-driven decisioning to simplify operations and enhance protective coverage.
  • Serve as technical mentor and capability-builder for architects, engineers, SOC analysts, and operations teams.
  • Publish guidance, reusable patterns, and secure-deployment blueprints to scale knowledge across the organization.
  • Stay updated on the latest network security trends, technologies, and threats, and apply this knowledge to enhance the organization’s network security posture.

The experience you bring

  • Professional Background: 12–15+ years in network security architecture, engineering, or advisory leadership roles.
  • Leadership Experience: 2+ years of experience in proven influence at enterprise scale with high-stake environments (multinational, regulated, complex connectivity).
