Raytheon Vision System is hiring a Sr Manager for the Semiconductor Product Engineers. This position is responsible for managing the Focal Plane Operations Product Engineering group, whose responsibilities are for technical performance, cost, and schedule for the various infrared Focal Plane Array (FPA) products. The product engineering manager has responsibility for managing this large functional team of product engineers, ensuring that they are an effective cross-functional conduit between Program Management, the factory, and all support functions.

The product engineers are responsible for the total program life cycle from bid/proposal through delivery of product. Product engineers make strategic decisions for the direction of the program related to manufacturing plans and program execution. Some product engineers are the cost account managers for their programs, using EVMS tools, and are responsible for generating robust EAC’s. Product engineers are also responsible for cost reduction initiatives, yield improvement projects, and RCCA’s, including scoping projects, obtaining funding, and driving technical progress across a cross-functional team.

What You Will Do

  • Leading and managing the large team of product engineers, engineering support, operations team, coaching them and removing obstacles which impede program progress.
  • leading teams of semiconductor Research, Development, and Engineering professionals through structured problem-solving techniques to solve complex manufacturing issues and drive RCCA’s
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving all new program bids as well as technical, cost, and schedule progress for all wafer and FPA programs.
  • Handling all aspects of the production organization concerned with the manufacturing of semiconductor wafers and flip-chip Focal Plane Arrays and Sensor Chip Assemblies.
  • Interface with both internal and external customers at monthly business reviews, EAC’s, Program Management Reviews and customer visits/tours.
  • Assimilating large volumes of technical data (via JMP, Minitab, MATLAB, etc.) to drive decisions
  • Understanding of requirements flow down from system-level requirements to product requirements to key process output variables
  • Transitioning development products into production

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Leadership/Management experience working in a manufacturing, engineering, semiconductor, and/or electro-optics environment.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Excellent written and verbal excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively influence senior leaders across various functions, up to the VP level.
  • Significant experience managing groups of engineers
  • Experience with manufacturing of photon detectors (infrared, visible, or UV)
  • Project Management experience using Earned Value (EVMS) tools
  • Familiarity with scheduling and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems (SAP PRISM)
  • Familiarity with a cleanroom work environment
  • Computer proficiency with demonstrated ability to learn new software applications
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain Management
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or schematics
  • Experience using Six Sigma process improvement methods

The salary range for this role is 145,600 USD - 276,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
