Senior Accountant

About the Role

The Senior Accountant will oversee core accounting operations, mentor junior staff, and ensure accurate financial reporting across multiple locations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building structure, improving processes, and bringing clarity to a fast‑growing organization.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant

• Manage month‑end and year‑end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting packages.
• Oversee AP/AR functions, general ledger maintenance, and cash management workflows.
• Prepare financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports for leadership.
• Collaborate with operations, HR, and development teams to ensure cohesive financial processes across all units.
• Implement and maintain internal controls that support a scalable and compliant financial environment.
• Support annual audits, budgeting cycles, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a resource and mentor to accounting staff.

Qualifications of the Senior Accountant

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Yardi experience is required — candidates without Yardi will not be considered.
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior, lead, or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and multi‑entity accounting.
• Experience in service‑based, multi‑location, franchise, real estate, childcare, or similar industries is highly preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
