About

Hands-on Senior Accountant to assist Controller with all aspects of the organization's accounting functions as well as assist the HR Director with payroll processing and tasks as needed. This position is extremely detail oriented and a role that requires being open to challenges that may extend beyond accounting/payroll and into operational functions. This person/role will also take on each task with a high degree of professional integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Support Controller with month end close, including preparation of journal entries, fixed asset management, reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts and variance analysis of the financial statements, and creation of supporting month end documentation.
  • Support Controller with cycle count program, annual physical inventory count and annual overhead rate calculations
  • Support Controller with schedules required by the parent company for internal and external (SEC) reporting and for use in the preparation of the tax provision and tax return.
  • Work with external auditors and respond to various financial audit related requests.
  • Assist the HR Director with payroll processing and other HR functions as needed.
  • Provide other financial, administrative, and operational support as needed.
  • Other related ad-hoc reporting and analysis as necessary.

Education Requirements/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (may consider those with a Bachelor’s degree in business).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with industrial manufacturing/Defense contracting preferred.
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (“FAR”) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (“DCAA”) requirements a plus.
  • Familiarity with developing standard cost and deriving indirect rates is preferred.
  • Strong work ethic (willingness to work long hours, when needed).
  • Strong Excel skills required.
  • General knowledge of ERP reporting packages are a plus. Direct experience with Epicor/Kinetic is also plus.
  • Familiarity with ADP/Payroll processing preferred.
  • Highly responsive to customer requirements, with high attention for detail and accuracy.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be flexible and able to multi-task in a time-sensitive environment.

Pay

$90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
