LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a professional services firm that is seeking a Senior Accountant, where you'll act as the outsourced controller for a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of different industries. As a Senior Accountant, you'll collaborate with a team of skilled professionals and receive mentorship from a seasoned CPA/Owner with extensive experience in public accounting. A successful candidate will have a blend of working with a small to mid‑tier public accounting firm in the audit and assurance practice, coupled with some experience in corporate.

This is a hybrid role that offers work/life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for assigned clients, managing all aspects of their accounting needs.
  • Oversee the day‑to‑day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement financial procedures and controls to optimize efficiency and mitigate risk.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.
  • Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Stay current with accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices to provide proactive guidance and recommendations to clients.
  • Actively participate in client meetings and presentations, offering insights and solutions to address their unique challenges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Solid understanding of GAAP principles and proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve complex accounting issues.

Compensation

  • $90,000 – $110,000
  • Benefit offerings for full‑time employment include medical, dental, vision, term life, short‑term and long‑term disability, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits, wellness plans, and a 401k plan or a non‑qualified deferred compensation plan
  • PTO is offered on an accrual basis
  • Paid Sick Leave where applicable by State law
