A well‑established and growing distribution and manufacturing company is seeking a hands‑on, detail‑driven Senior Accountant to join its finance team. Core Responsibilities
- Manage core accounting functions including general ledger oversight, month‑end and year‑end close, and account reconciliations
- Support distribution and manufacturing accounting activities, including inventory and cost‑related transactions
- Prepare and review financial statements and perform variance analysis to support management decision‑making
- Handle sales commission accounting, including calculations, reconciliations, and analysis across multiple states (approximately 25‑30% of the role)
- Collaborate with operations, sales, and leadership teams to ensure financial data aligns with business activity
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes and analyze actual results versus plan
- Support audit preparation and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Participate in system enhancements and help streamline accounting processes and procedures
- Take ownership of evolving accounting and reporting needs as the business continues to grow
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5‑7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a distribution or manufacturing environment
- Experience with sales commissions accounting or a strong interest in owning this function
- Solid understanding of GAAP, reconciliations, and internal controls
- Proficient in Excel and accounting systems; ERP experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast‑paced, and evolving environment
- Strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset
- CPA is a plus but not required
