About the role

Position Overview

This Accountant role supports both the company’s internal corporate accounting activities (LBO and operational accounting) and its government contracting business. The role is responsible for managing internal accounts, vendor and employee payments, and purchases, while also handling government and prime contractor invoicing and payments to subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint, government invoicing, and full-cycle Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, along with experience supporting internal corporate accounting operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Internal & Corporate Accounting (LBO / Operational)

  • Manage internal corporate accounting activities, including LBO-related accounting support
  • Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, travel expenses, and corporate purchases
  • Ensure timely and accurate payments to internal vendors and service providers
  • Maintain and reconcile internal general ledger accounts
  • Support internal budgeting, expense tracking, and cost analysis
  • Maintain proper documentation for purchases, travel, and operational expenses

Government & Contract Accounting

  • Perform full-cycle Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate and timely invoices to:
    • Government clients
    • Prime contractors
  • Process and track timely payments to subcontractors in accordance with contract terms
  • Monitor invoice status, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on outstanding receivables and payables
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, contract terms, and billing requirements
  • Utilize Deltek Costpoint to manage billing, project costs, and financial data
  • Provide the necessary corporate financial information to support the bids/proposals and business development efforts.

General Accounting Responsibilities

  • Support month-end and year-end close activities
  • Reconcile accounts and investigate variances
  • Maintain accurate financial records and audit-ready documentation
  • Assist with internal, external, and government audits
  • Collaborate with finance leadership, contracts, HR, and project management teams
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting, billing, and payment processes

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen (required)
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience within a government contracting environment
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Deltek Costpoint
    • Government and Prime Contractor Invoicing
    • Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Experience managing internal corporate accounts, vendor payments, and operational expenses
  • Proven ability to ensure timely invoicing and on-time payments to:
    • Government customers
    • Prime contractors
    • Subcontractors
    • Internal vendors
  • Strong understanding of government contract accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
  • High attention to detail with strong deadline management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience supporting DCAA-compliant environments
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFARS regulations
  • Experience with timekeeping, expense reporting, and project cost accounting
