About the role

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will play a significant role in the accounting function including cash management. The role is pivotal in ensuring the financial stability of the company through accurate and timely processing journal entries, account reconciliations, bank statement analysis, and proactively identifying and addressing any areas that may need improvement. Additional responsibilities may include assisting the Controller and Accounting Manager in preparing detailed reports for ownership and other senior leaders to provide insights into the company's financial status.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist in the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including internal/external monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain general ledger and assume responsibility for monthly closing activities.
  • Maintain and utilize specialized knowledge of accounting principles and practices related to construction management.
  • Assist with the accurate and timely processing of credit card statements and employee expense reports.
  • Perform the activities of the accounts receivables to ensure accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings and cash receipts applications.
  • Assist in corporate cash management oversight including cash flow projections.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data.
  • Drive process improvements, keep abreast of new finance and accounting trends and developments, and identify and implement internal controls.
  • Assist with the development of departmental SOPs.
  • Help ensure the Company is audit-ready.
  • Work collaboratively with personnel across the organization to actively provide timely financial information.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of previous accounting experience, preferably in construction or closely related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant is a plus.
  • Experience with Viewpoint is a plus.
  • Experience with cost accounting and WIP.
  • Certified payroll experience is a plus.
  • High level of attention to detail and strong time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, especially Excel.

Pay

$90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
