CLA is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our CAAS (Nonprofit Industry) group in our Baltimore MD, Bethesda MD or Arlington VA office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement: Develop a deep understanding of each client's business and operations, managing multiple clients and their accounts efficiently.
- Daily Transactions: Lead the coordination and processing of accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and payroll transactions.
- Month-End Closing: Coordinate and review account reconciliations, complete complex reconciliations, and prepare and review financial statements of varying complexities.
- Quarterly and Annual Reporting: Complete sales tax returns, Form 1099s, and prepare audit and tax return workpapers as needed by clients.
- Team Leadership: Oversee workflow and ensure the quality and efficiency of work produced by Associates and Analysts.
- Special Projects: Participate in internal audits, due diligence, systems selection, and various consultative projects.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience.
- A Bachelor's degree is required; relevant experience, education, and training may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Our compensation strategy promotes collaboration and growth, providing competitive wages as an investment in our people. Factors such as geography, experience, education, and skills will influence pay within the range.
The salary range for this position in Maryland is: $73,800 - 126,000.
