We are currently seeking an experienced Consulting Senior Accountant (Contract) for our rapidly growing construction company.
This is a dynamic and exciting opportunity for a seasoned accountant to showcase their expertise in financial management, reporting and analysis. This is a contract position that offers a challenging and rewarding work environment, with the potential for extension based on performance and business needs.
Role is temporary for 3 months with potential to extend OR convert permanently

Job Details
Responsibilities
As a Consulting Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks including, but not limited to:
- Overseeing and managing the general ledger and ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Conducting monthly, quarterly and annual financial audits and preparing detailed reports.
- Handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Conducting bank reconciliations and managing cash flow.
- Utilizing QuickBooks for financial management and reporting.
- Assisting with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
- Ensuring compliance with all internal policies and relevant regulations.
- Assisting with the preparation of tax returns and corporate reporting requirements.
- Working closely with the finance team to improve financial procedures.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification would be an added advantage.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior accounting or financial management role. Prior experience in the construction industry is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles, including AP, AR, general ledger management, and bank reconciliations.
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
