Senior Accountant, Corporate Reporting & Treasury Support (10-Month Contract)

Work Model: Hybrid, 3 days onsite

We are currently partnering with a well-known public company to hire a Senior Accountant for a 10-month contract within the Corporate Reporting team. This is a high-impact opportunity for an accounting professional with strong month-end close, financial reporting, treasury support, audit, and Excel capabilities.

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Reporting, this role will support key accounting and reporting activities across multiple entities and play an important role in the close and reporting cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record a variety of balance sheet journal entries
  • Support the month-end and quarter-end close process
  • Maintain and update detailed working papers and support schedules
  • Prepare and maintain schedules for interest accruals, amortization, and other complex accruals
  • Support treasury-related transactions, including financing activities
  • Assist with financial statement preparation during reporting cycles
  • Support the preparation of management reporting in required formats
  • Contribute to MD&A support and related reporting deliverables
  • Extract data from systems and transform it into Excel-based consolidation and reporting files
  • Maintain detailed Excel schedules to support balances and transactions across entities
  • Support the external and internal audit process by preparing schedules, documentation, and analysis
  • Ensure strong application of accrual accounting principles and overall reporting accuracy

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in full-cycle month-end close
  • Strong background in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and analysis
  • Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and working papers
  • Exposure to public company reporting and external reporting support
  • Experience supporting the audit process
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting concepts
  • Proficiency with mid-sized ERP/accounting systems such as Sage, Great Plains, or similar
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and large-data manipulation
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting treasury and financing-related activities
  • Exposure to interest accruals, amortization schedules, and complex reporting support
  • Experience with D365 or similar systems
  • Experience building Excel macros is considered a strong asset
