Our client is a leading international organisation within the industrial and engineering sector, known for its strong operational footprint and commitment to excellence.

This is a pivotal role within the finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Director, where you will take ownership of the full credit control function while managing a team of 7 across various branches. The role offers exposure to cross-border transactions, international reporting structures, and strategic finance involvement.

You will play a key role in strengthening credit risk controls, enhancing reporting accuracy, and ensuring compliance with internal and external audit standards, while driving efficiencies through continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Credit Control function across multiple branches, including supervision of a team of 7
  • Oversee credit risk management, credit insurance, and control processes
  • Manage month-end close processes and perform general ledger reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and external audit requirements
  • Prepare and analyse management reports, collection forecasts, and budgets
  • Provide support across interbranch, functional, and cross-border operations
  • Review, improve, and document process flows, ensuring proper segregation of duties
  • Maintain and enhance customer master data structures for accurate reporting
  • Engage with customers and banking institutions, particularly around foreign payments and collections
  • Drive collaboration across departments, ensuring strong stakeholder and team engagement

Job Experience and Skills Required

Education

  • BCom in Accounting (essential)
  • Credit Management qualification (advantageous)

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in finance and credit control
  • Proven experience in managing a team and dealing with multi-branch operations
  • Exposure to international or cross-border environments advantageous

Skills & Systems

  • Experience on JD Edwards (E1 ERP system) advantageous
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and credit control practices
