Our client is a leading international organisation within the industrial and engineering sector, known for its strong operational footprint and commitment to excellence.
This is a pivotal role within the finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Director, where you will take ownership of the full credit control function while managing a team of 7 across various branches. The role offers exposure to cross-border transactions, international reporting structures, and strategic finance involvement.
You will play a key role in strengthening credit risk controls, enhancing reporting accuracy, and ensuring compliance with internal and external audit standards, while driving efficiencies through continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Credit Control function across multiple branches, including supervision of a team of 7
- Oversee credit risk management, credit insurance, and control processes
- Manage month-end close processes and perform general ledger reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and external audit requirements
- Prepare and analyse management reports, collection forecasts, and budgets
- Provide support across interbranch, functional, and cross-border operations
- Review, improve, and document process flows, ensuring proper segregation of duties
- Maintain and enhance customer master data structures for accurate reporting
- Engage with customers and banking institutions, particularly around foreign payments and collections
- Drive collaboration across departments, ensuring strong stakeholder and team engagement
Job Experience and Skills Required
Education
- BCom in Accounting (essential)
- Credit Management qualification (advantageous)
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in finance and credit control
- Proven experience in managing a team and dealing with multi-branch operations
- Exposure to international or cross-border environments advantageous
Skills & Systems
- Experience on JD Edwards (E1 ERP system) advantageous
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and credit control practices
