About the role
Introduction
Responsible for financial reporting, analysis, compliance, and supporting business decision-making through accurate and timely financial information. The role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to engage with stakeholders across the business.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Analysis • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g. IFRS)
2. Financial Planning & Analysis • Analyse financial results against budget to identify trends and variances • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
3. General Ledger & Reconciliations • Perform reconciliations of bank statements, general ledger accounts, and expense accounts • Maintain accurate and complete financial records
4. Transaction Management • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes • Review creditors processing and ensure accuracy of supporting documentation
5. Compliance & Tax • Review and submit VAT returns • Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and statutory requirements
6. Audit Support • Assist with internal and external audits • Provide required documentation and respond to audit queries
7. Business Partnering • Analyse financial data to support strategic decision-making • Provide recommendations on cost optimisation and revenue growth • Liaise with operational stakeholders to resolve financial queries
8. Policies & Procedures • Develop and document financial policies and procedures, particularly in support of ERP system implementation
Desired Experience & Qualification
Education • Degree in Accounting / Finance • CIMA qualification (advantageous)
Experience • Minimum of 6+ years’ post-graduate experience in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis
Technical Skills • Proficiency in accounting systems and IFRS • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Analytical Skills • Strong ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends
Personal Attributes • High level of accuracy and attention to detail • Strong communication and presentation skills • Ability to engage with non-financial stakeholders • Conflict management and people management skills • Self-motivated, proactive, and a critical thinker
