A dynamic and growing international business environment is looking for a Senior Accountant who wants to be involved in more than routine accounting. This role offers exposure to multiple entities, cross-border operations, and strategic finance work, where your input will contribute to real business decisions.

You'll work closely with experienced finance leaders while gaining exposure to diverse industries, international projects, and complex accounting environments. For professionals who enjoy variety and growth, the role also offers the possibility of travel linked to project work and international operations.

Responsibilities

You will work closely with senior finance leadership and play an integral role in supporting the finance function across multiple entities.

  • Managing general ledger administration and accounting support
  • Assisting with tax queries, compliance, and audit preparation
  • Performing reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Supporting backlog clean-ups and improving accounting processes
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts
  • Assisting with annual financial statements and audit schedules
  • Producing financial reports for different departments
  • Supporting budgeting, planning, and financial strategy processes
  • Handling VAT submissions and reporting
  • Guiding and reviewing work completed by junior team members
  • Contributing to finance team initiatives and continuous improvement

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years' experience in an accounting role
  • BCom Accounting or similar financial qualification
  • Professional Accountant designation advantageous
  • Experience working with African countries, specifically DRC

Key Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of online accounting systems (QuickBooks experience advantageous)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent reconciliation and financial analysis ability
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confident decision-maker with strong business insight
  • Analytical thinker who enjoys problem-solving
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • High level of accountability and ownership for work delivered
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
