The Senior Accountant role is part of UHG Corporate Services Finance, responsible for day-to-day governance and delivery of Corporate Services accounting objectives, with enterprise-level impact as a process lead for real estate transactions and accounting. The role partners with finance and operations customers to ensure accurate accounting and financial controls.
This position follows a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week.
Primary Responsibilities
- Financial management of lease accounting: prepare, document, and record lease transactions, including technical accounting.
- Fixed asset accounting and asset management: close projects, create assets, maintain asset useful life, manage depreciation schedules, evaluate capitalization vs. expense.
- Perform real estate-based balance sheet reconciliations and analysis including property taxes, lease accounting, vendor accruals, reimbursement, prepaids.
- Determine accounting treatment for unique real estate transactions and document conclusions.
- Present conclusions to internal UHG customers.
- Ensure transactions are properly included in the forecast.
- Month-end entries, reporting, and analysis supporting Corporate Services balance sheet including legal entity and intercompany accounting accuracy.
- Assist with consolidation and reporting of Corporate Services results during month-end and forecast cycles.
- Serve as primary input source for CoStar lease accounting system; monitor accounting controls.
- Support Corporate Services M&A team with accounting guidance for acquisitions.
- Partner with Corporate Services Transaction Management for lease contract review.
- Provide audit support for Corporate Services Finance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent field.
- 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience managing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Experience working as a member of a cross-functional team.
- Experience supporting a month-end close process.
- Experience providing customer support in a highly matrixed organization.
- Experience researching US GAAP accounting policies and applying findings.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed CPA (or expired CPA).
- Experience with lease accounting (ASC 842).
- Experience with fixed asset accounting.
- Experience with CoStar lease accounting system.
- Experience with PeopleSoft and Hyperion Essbase.

Additional Information
Pay is based on factors including local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications. Salary range is $60,200 to $107,400 annually for full-time employment.
