About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Active Directory & Infrastructure Engineer to serve as a technical expert supporting enterprise systems for the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP). This role is critical to maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure across multiple environments, including data centers and disaster recovery sites.
You will act as the primary point of contact for Active Directory, server infrastructure, and print services, while collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure operational excellence.
Work Environment
- Initial onsite requirement, transitioning to hybrid (2 days onsite)
- Location: Harrisburg, PA (PSP Headquarters)
- Standard hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Occasional after-hours support required
- First day onsite required for equipment and onboarding
Key Responsibilities 🔐 Active Directory & Identity Management
- Design and implement enterprise Active Directory solutions
- Manage user provisioning via CUPSS (accounts, groups, service accounts)
- Define and enforce:
- Naming conventions
- Security group standards
- Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
- Administer:
- Account lifecycle (create, suspend, reactivate)
- Privileged access approvals
- Password resets and user transfers
- Troubleshoot complex AD and account-related issues
🖥️ Infrastructure & Server Administration
- Lead implementation and standards for:
- File Share servers
- Print servers
- Manage:
- Permissions and access control
- Drive space and storage optimization
- Data migration and recovery (Shadow Copy, backups)
- Ensure consistency and compliance across all infrastructure environments
🖨️ Print Management
- Administer enterprise print environment:
- Configure and deploy network printers
- Manage print queues and drivers
- Perform firmware updates and patching
- Troubleshoot issues with users and vendors
- Maintain printer inventory and documentation
🛡️ Security, Compliance & Governance
- Enforce enterprise IT policies and security standards
- Support antivirus and intrusion protection initiatives
- Contribute to:
- Disaster Recovery (DR) planning
- Continuity of Government (CoG) operations
- Ensure compliance with CJIS policies and background requirements
🤝 Collaboration & Support
- Act as liaison between:
- Internal IT teams
- External vendors and agencies
- Provide Tier 2/3 support to IT staff and end users
- Participate in special projects and operational improvements
Qualifications Required
- Strong expertise in: Microsoft Active Directory (Enterprise level), Group Policy (GPO) management, File & Print server administration
- Experience with: Identity and access management, Infrastructure support across multiple sites
- Ability to: Troubleshoot complex technical issues, Work independently and lead initiatives
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred
- Experience with CUPSS or similar identity provisioning systems
- Background supporting government or law enforcement environments
- Familiarity with: Disaster recovery planning, Enterprise security frameworks
