Liberty Specialty Markets

Paris · On-site Full-time Senior Yesterday

About the role

About the Role

This is a newly created Actuarial analyst position within the LII Europe business actuarial department, and its purpose is to support the growth objectives of LII Europe’s Commercial and Specialty insurance business across European branches with a focus on technical pricing and portfolio monitoring, providing and coordinating actuarial engagement with local European underwriting teams.

Whilst previous experience working in commercial pricing is an advantage, it is not a prerequisite. We encourage candidates who display the key behaviours discussed above to apply. The role of senior actuarial analyst is typically held by an associate actuary or junior qualified actuary justifying a couple of years of relevant experience.

About the Department & Team

You will be joining the Europe Financial Lines and Casualty Business Actuarial team composed of 3 professionals based in Europe and report to the Senior Actuary of the team. In your role, you will be closely working with other business actuarial teams, either based in Europe (Professional Lines & Portfolio solution) or supporting Europe from London (Global Lines such as Marine, Energy & Construction, GTS and Contingency). Your team, along with other European Business actuarial teams, report to the LMIE & LII Europe Chief Actuary, based in Luxembourg. You will also interact with a much larger actuarial community of cca 40 members dedicated to other actuarial specialties such as Pricing & Analytics, Reserving and Capital management and who are servicing LII and other regions.

Whilst this role does not have specific location requirements, we would prefer the candidate to be based in one of LII Europe branches to best support our underwriting teams locally.

This is an exciting role in which you will be given the opportunity to shape LII Europe’s future and expanding European operations. You will be given the opportunity to develop the actuarial presence across LII’s European offices.

LII Europe underwrites cca $900m of GWP annually in Europe, half of which related to Casualty and Financial Lines. It has ambitious aspirations to expand its market share in Europe in the coming years.
