A pioneering aerospace company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Aerospace Systems Engineer to join their innovative team in Kimberley, Northern Cape, ZA . Responsibilities: Lead the systems engineering effort for new aerospace projects, from conceptual design through to production and deployment. Define system requirements, architecture, and interfaces, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder needs. Perform system analysis, modeling, and simulation to predict and optimize performance. Develop and manage the system development plan, including schedules, resources, and risk assessments. Oversee the integration and testing of various subsystems, ensuring compatibility and functionality. Conduct trade studies and make recommendations for system design choices. Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, regulations, and best practices. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams (e.g., mechanical, electrical, software). Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues that arise during the development and testing phases. Prepare technical documentation, including system design specifications, test plans, and reports. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams. Contribute to proposal development and the bidding process for new projects. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry advancements relevant to aerospace systems. Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in aerospace systems engineering, with a proven track record of success in complex projects. In-depth knowledge of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., MBSE, SysML). Experience with aerospace vehicle design, integration, and testing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively. Proficiency in simulation and modeling software relevant to aerospace applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior management and clients. Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage complex projects. Familiarity with aerospace standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, and MIL-STD. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
