Senior Agile Program Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Agile Program Manager to join their expanding technology division in Tembisa, Gauteng, ZA . This role is critical for overseeing multiple complex projects within an Agile framework, ensuring timely delivery, effective resource allocation, and alignment with strategic business objectives. You will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and driving process improvements to maximize efficiency and productivity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various Agile methodologies, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage large-scale programs in a demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the execution of multiple concurrent projects within a program using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.). Develop and maintain program roadmaps, backlogs, and release plans in collaboration with product owners and stakeholders. Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Identify, assess, and manage program risks and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies. Monitor program progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular status reports to senior management. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting Agile principles and values. Manage program budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Agile development process. Ensure alignment between program deliverables and overarching business strategy. Mentor and coach Agile team members, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and leadership. Resolve conflicts and remove impediments that hinder team progress. Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices throughout the program lifecycle. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project or program management, with at least 5 years in an Agile environment. Proven experience managing large, complex, cross-functional programs. Strong understanding and practical application of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe). Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in project management software and Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification is highly desirable. PMP or PgMP certification is a plus. Ability to analyze and solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources effectively. Experience in stakeholder management and expectation setting. Strong understanding of software development lifecycles.
