Senior Agricultural Drone Pilot & Data Analyst

Our client, a leader in innovative agricultural solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Agricultural Drone Pilot & Data Analyst to join their dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within Nigeria. You will be instrumental in leveraging advanced drone technology and data analytics to optimize farming practices, enhance crop yields, and improve overall farm management for clients across various agricultural sectors.

Responsibilities: Plan, execute, and manage complex drone flight operations for aerial imaging, spraying, and surveying in agricultural settings. Ensure adherence to all aviation regulations and safety protocols during drone operations. Operate and maintain a fleet of specialized agricultural drones, including sensor calibration and troubleshooting. Collect, process, and analyze high-resolution aerial imagery and sensor data (e.g., NDVI, thermal, multispectral). Develop comprehensive reports and actionable insights for farmers and agronomists, covering aspects like crop health monitoring, pest detection, soil analysis, and yield prediction. Utilize GIS and remote sensing software to create detailed farm maps, identify problem areas, and recommend targeted interventions. Collaborate with clients to understand their specific agricultural challenges and tailor drone solutions accordingly. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in agricultural drone technology, data analytics, and precision agriculture techniques. Provide training and guidance to junior team members on drone operations and data analysis best practices. Maintain accurate flight logs, maintenance records, and data archives. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Forestry, Geography, Geomatics, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in agricultural drone operations, with a strong understanding of drone hardware, software, and piloting techniques. Proven experience in data analysis using GIS, remote sensing, and agricultural software (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS, Agisoft Metashape, Pix4Dmapper). Expertise in interpreting multispectral, thermal, and aerial imagery for agricultural applications. In-depth knowledge of crop science, soil management, and precision agriculture principles. Demonstrated ability to pilot drones safely and efficiently in diverse environmental conditions. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting. Valid drone pilot license and relevant certifications are highly desirable.
