Senior AI Engineer – Python

Our client is a leading international industrial company in the field of mechanical and plant engineering for the beverage and food industry. For decades, the company has been developing innovative technologies and highly automated systems that are used worldwide. As part of a permanent position at the Dortmund site, we are looking for a "Senior AI Engineer – Python" to bridge the gap between innovative AI research and productive software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Productization: Transferring GenAI prototypes (e.g., RAG systems, agents) into highly available, scalable production services (APIs, backends).
• Data Engineering: Conception and setup of robust data and document pipelines for modern AI applications.
• LLMOps & Quality: Establishment of test strategies, evaluation frameworks, and guardrails to ensure model quality and stability.
• Lifecycle Management: Setup of CI/CD pipelines as well as management of release processes and development environments (Dev/Test/Prod).
• System Stability: Implementation of modern observability solutions (monitoring, alerting) as well as implementation of the highest security and governance standards.

Qualifications

• Foundation: Completed studies in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable technical qualification.
• Engineering Experience: Several years of practical experience in software development, primarily with Python; knowledge of C#, Java, or TypeScript is advantageous.
• Backend Expertise: Experience in developing productive services, including CI/CD and integration landscapes.
• Cloud Know-how: Confident handling of cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure) as well as understanding of stable system operation and performance.
• Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, quality awareness, and the ability to implement technological innovations economically.
