About the role

About

A high-growth AI startup ($150mil+ in funding) is hiring a Senior AI Engineer to lead the engineering of production-grade LLM and agent systems powering real-world healthcare automation.

Backed by tier-1 VCs, the business has moved beyond experimentation and into scale. With a current headcount of 70 and a clear roadmap to grow to 200, they are building the category-defining Generative AI automation platform for Healthcare, serving both B2B enterprise clients and B2C users.

This is not a research-heavy role. This is about shipping robust, scalable, secure LLM systems into production in one of the most complex and regulated industries in the world.

What You'll Do

  • Own the end-to-end engineering of LLM-driven product, from architecture and evaluation to deployment and monitoring.
  • Design agentic workflows, build retrieval-augmented systems, and optimise model performance for reliability, latency, and cost.
  • Work closely with Product, Clinical, and Engineering teams to turn advanced Generative AI capabilities into compliant, production-ready healthcare solutions that meaningfully reduce administrative burden and improve patient outcomes.
  • This is a chance to build systems that matter.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years in Software / ML Engineering, with strong production experience
  • Deep hands-on experience with LLM ecosystems (e.g., Transformers, embeddings, RAG architectures)
  • Experience building agent-based systems and orchestration frameworks
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals (Python, APIs, distributed systems)
  • Experience deploying models in cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure)
  • Familiarity with model evaluation, monitoring, and reliability engineering
  • Comfortable operating in high-ownership, fast-scaling startup environments
  • Bonus: Experience in healthcare, healthtech, or regulated domains

Why Join?

  • Mission-driven impact: Transforming healthcare workflows at scale
  • Serious backing: $150m raised from top-tier investors
  • Clear growth trajectory: Scaling from 70 → 200 employees
  • Engineering-first culture: Strong emphasis on shipping reliable systems
  • Ownership & influence: Early senior hire with architectural input
  • Competitive salary + meaningful equity
