As the primary digitalization partner for the Bundeswehr, we provide stable, secure, and efficient IT services domestically and abroad, from basic operations to mission-critical areas, thereby contributing to the continuous enhancement of the Bundeswehr's command and operational capabilities. We in the Technology Engineering Team, as part of the Chief Technology Office (CTO), are jointly responsible for the strategic renewal of BWI's service portfolio. Our mission is to develop and operate an AI Service Platform that provides BWI employees with access to state-of-the-art AI technology. To achieve this, we combine innovation and research in Artificial Intelligence with best practices from DevSecOps and MLOps. We are currently building a strong team with expertise in various areas of AI development.

Your Tasks
- Architecture and development of the central AI platform using techniques such as MCP, A2A, and AG-UI
- Implementation of LLM-based agents using common Python frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, PydanticAI)
- Development and optimization of the core API for the AI platform (e.g., REST/GraphQL) for integrating ML models
- Ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of the API under load (e.g., caching, rate limiting)
- Collaboration with MLOps Engineers to connect models and infrastructure (GPU clusters, Kubernetes)
- Implementation of security mechanisms (API gateways, token authentication)
- Documentation and support for internal and external developers
Your Profile
- Completed Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a comparable field
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience after completing studies is mandatory
- Experience in backend development with Python, Go, Rust, or Java
- Experience in API design such as REST, GraphQL, gRPC, MQTT, or WebSockets
- Experience with on-prem cloud technologies (e.g., Kubernetes) and ML operations frameworks
- Expertise in performance optimization and monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
- Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and storage systems
- Experience with ML models and their integration into APIs
- Fluent German and very good English skills, both written and spoken
