Das Kompetenzzentrum DOK Kastlunger ist eines der führenden medizinischen Zentren in Tirol und verbindet modernste Diagnostik und Therapie mit innovativen Technologien. Zur Verstärkung unseres Teams suchen wir eine/n engagierte/n Senior AI Engineer/Lead AI Developer.

Your Role

• Du bist verantwortlich für die Konzeption, Entwicklung und Skalierung von KI-gestützten Systemen innerhalb unserer IT-Architektur.
• Du denkst nicht in Features – sondern in End-to-End-Systemen.

Your Tasks

• Design und Implementierung von AI-Architekturen (LLMs, ML-Modelle, hybride Systeme) für produktive Anwendungen
• Entwicklung von skalierbaren AI-Pipelines (Data Ingestion, Processing, Inference, Monitoring)
• Integration von KI in bestehende Systeme (z. B. RIS, PACS, ERP, Datenbanken, Webservices)
• Entwicklung von Automatisierungs- und Entscheidungslogiken auf Basis von Daten und Modellen
• Aufbau und Optimierung von API-Strukturen und Microservices für AI-Anwendungen
• Evaluierung und Einsatz moderner AI-Stacks (z. B. OpenAI, Open Source LLMs, Vector DBs, LangChain/ähnliche Frameworks)
• Sicherstellung von Performance, Skalierbarkeit und Sicherheit der Systeme
• Technische Führung bei AI-Themen innerhalb des Teams
• Enge Zusammenarbeit mit IT-Leitung, Management und externen Partnern

Tech Stack (depending on the project)

• Python (FastAPI, ML Libraries)
• APIs & Microservices
• LLMs / NLP / Automation Systems
• Databases (SQL / NoSQL / Vector DBs)
• Cloud / On-Prem Hybrid Architectures
• Containerization (Docker, possibly Kubernetes / OpenShift)
• Interfaces to medical systems (e.g. DICOM, HL7 – advantageous)

What we expect from you

• Several years of experience in AI/ML development and productive systems
• Strong knowledge in software architecture and system design
• Experience with LLMs, automation, and modern AI frameworks
• Ability to think and implement complex systems in a structured way
• Understanding of data flows, interfaces, and scaling
• Hands-on mentality – you implement, not just conceptualize
• Ideally, experience in a regulated environment (Healthcare is a plus, not a must)

Salary & Framework Conditions

Remuneration is in accordance with the currently valid collective agreement, with a clear willingness for significant overpayment depending on qualifications and experience, as well as performance-based development prospects.
