Senior AI / LLM Engineer (m/w/d)

Project

For the development and further enhancement of a company-wide GenAI platform, we are looking for two experienced technical professionals in the field of Generative AI, RAG systems, and Cloud Engineering. The role is highly technical, combining software engineering, cloud architecture, and MLOps in a production-critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Development and implementation of production-ready GenAI solutions, particularly based on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Setup, operation, and further development of scalable data pipelines, APIs, and AI services
• Integration of LLM-based applications into existing enterprise systems in real-time
• Collaboration with Cloud Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and DevOps teams to transition prototypes into productive solutions
• Implementation of monitoring, observability, and tracing mechanisms (e.g., OpenTelemetry, LLM tracing)
• Continuous fine-tuning, monitoring, and optimization of GenAI models in the production environment
• Ensuring scalability, stability, security, and business alignment

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a business engineering or comparable interface function between business and IT
• In-depth understanding of Generative AI and RAG architectures, as well as experience in prompt and context engineering
• Practical experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangFuse, and NeMo Guardrails (Spring AI is an advantage)
• Very good knowledge in Cloud Engineering on Microsoft Azure, especially Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Azure App Service, and Azure Container Apps
• Experience in setting up and operating CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and DevOps processes
• Solid experience in developing APIs and integrating AI/LLM models into productive systems
• Knowledge in LLM Observability, Monitoring, and OpenTelemetry
• Experience in building secure and scalable cloud architectures, including vNET, firewall, load balancer, and TLS/SSL and certificate management
• Very good programming skills in Python (very strong) and Java, complemented by experience with NodeJS and Angular (optional) as well as scripting in Bash and PowerShell
• Experience in test automation and continuous validation of AI and GenAI systems
• Basic understanding of statistics, feature engineering, and model evaluation
