Senior AI Platform Developer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior AI Platform Developer to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI/ML solutions. This individual will play a critical role in architecting scalable AI platforms, mentoring junior team members, and driving best practices across machine learning development and deployment. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and experience delivering production-grade AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning and deep learning models
• Architect and build scalable AI platforms and data pipelines
• Oversee data acquisition, preprocessing, and feature engineering processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and business stakeholders
• Optimize, monitor, and continuously improve model performance in production
• Drive MLOps best practices including CI/CD, model versioning, and lifecycle management
• Work with large-scale datasets leveraging big data technologies
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior developers

Required Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in AI/ML development or related field
• Expert-level programming skills in Python (required); experience with R, Java, or C is a plus
• Deep understanding of machine learning concepts (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning)
• Strong experience with neural networks including CNNs and RNNs
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, and scikit-learn
• Advanced data analysis skills including data cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with big data tools such as Apache Spark and OpenSearch
• Strong foundation in mathematics and statistics (linear algebra, calculus, probability)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) tools such as NLTK, spaCy, or Hugging Face Transformers
• Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
• Strong knowledge of MLOps principles and tools for model deployment and monitoring

Additional Requirements

• Must be willing to work onsite 4–5 days per week in Herndon, VA
• Must be open to converting to a full-time employee in October 2026
