Responsibilities

The AI Competence Center at Union Investment focuses on developing innovative AI solutions. To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced (Senior) AI Platform Engineer (m/f/d) to manage our platform, on which we operate productive AI and Advanced Analytics applications.

You will primarily focus on the following tasks:

• Building containers and operating them in Azure Kubernetes Service to ensure the operability of Union Investment's cloud applications
• Using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Terrgrunt for infrastructure provisioning and configuration
• Implementing, operating, and improving CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD for efficient and automated software delivery
• Close collaboration with architects and application managers for the development, deployment, and operation of applications
• Close collaboration with Machine Learning Engineers and Data Scientists in the development of AI use cases and AI agents
• Monitoring and incident handling in the platform's cloud infrastructure
• Mentoring and supporting engineers in DevOps best practices

Profile

• Completed degree in Computer Science or a comparable IT-related field, or equivalent qualification
• Several years of experience in software development and system operations with modern tech stacks, CI/CD pipelines, and stable, secure, and cost-effective operation on hyperscalers (preferably Microsoft Azure)
• Experience in building hardened containers (Docker) and operating them on Kubernetes clusters (AKS) via Helm and ArgoCD
• Proven extensive knowledge in building and maintaining reusable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates and components (e.g., Terraform)
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) are an advantage
• Several years of professional experience as a Platform or DevOps Engineer
• Your work style is characterized by partnership, appreciation, enthusiasm, and team spirit
