Senior Android Engineer

Overview

The Engineering team builds the software powering Veriff, tackling the challenges of online identity in a scalable and innovative way. We’re looking for a Senior Android Engineer to help us build a reliable, secure, and high‑performing SDK that works seamlessly across a wide range of devices.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining our Android SDK, ensuring optimal performance, security, and usability
• Collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend developers
• Addressing the challenges of compatibility and performance across a wide range of devices, from low‑end to high‑end models
• Implementing continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes to streamline development, testing, and release cycles
• Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement
• Staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating best practices and innovative solutions into our SDK
• Proactively identifying and resolving potential bottlenecks to ensure the highest levels of reliability and stability
• Contributing to the strategic direction of our Android development efforts, driving innovation and helping shape the future of Veriff's products and services

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Android Developer, with a strong track record in developing and maintaining high‑quality Android SDKs or applications
• Expertise in Android frameworks, Kotlin, and Java, as well as familiarity with RESTful APIs and their integration into Android applications
• Experience with Android testing frameworks, tools and processes, including unit, integration and performance tests
• Solid understanding of mobile application architecture, design patterns, and best practices, with experience in optimising performance across various devices
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset that fosters effective teamwork and continuous improvement

Additional Strengths

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Scrum, or Kanban, and their application in a fast‑paced development environment
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes and tools
• Experience with other mobile development platforms, such as iOS or cross‑platform frameworks like React Native or Flutter, broadening our team's expertise and versatility
• Mobile application accessibility and inclusive design practices, ensuring our SDK caters to a diverse user base
