Our client, a prominent player in the automotive manufacturing sector, is seeking a dedicated Senior Automotive Quality Assurance Engineer to join their expanding operations in Umuahia, Abia, NG. This crucial role will focus on upholding and enhancing the quality standards of automotive components and systems throughout the production lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance procedures and standards in accordance with industry regulations (e.g., IATF 16949).
- Conduct in‑depth quality audits.
- Perform root cause analysis for defects.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to identify potential quality issues early in the product development process and ensure their timely resolution.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans.
- Analyze test results and provide detailed reports on product quality performance.
- Apply statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma methodologies, and various quality tools and techniques.
- Participate in supplier quality management, evaluating supplier capabilities, and ensuring incoming material quality.
- Mentor junior QA staff, provide technical guidance, and foster a quality‑first culture within the organization.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) – required.
- Master’s degree – a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive quality assurance or a related quality engineering role – essential.
- Demonstrated experience in a senior capacity.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, and FMEA – highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with supplier quality management and evaluation of supplier capabilities.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior QA staff.
