Our client, a premier automotive manufacturer, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automotive Quality Engineer to join their esteemed team in Maiduguri, Borno, NG . This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality throughout the automotive product lifecycle, from design and development to production and post-market analysis. You will play a critical role in implementing and maintaining robust quality management systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and resolving complex quality issues. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, quality control methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing), and relevant industry standards (e.g., IATF 16949). Responsibilities include developing and executing quality plans, conducting root cause analyses for defects, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and validating product conformance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, to identify potential quality risks and implement proactive solutions. This position requires excellent analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong leadership qualities. You will be expected to champion a culture of quality excellence across the organization, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to strategic quality planning. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage quality assurance strategies and processes for automotive products.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Oversee product conformity and performance testing, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to identify and mitigate potential quality risks.
  • Implement and maintain quality management systems, such as IATF 16949.
  • Utilize quality tools and methodologies, including Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, SPC, and FMEA.
  • Monitor and analyze quality data, identifying trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Train and mentor junior quality engineers and production personnel on quality standards and practices.
  • Conduct internal audits and supplier quality assessments.
  • Champion a culture of quality excellence throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or related field).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive quality engineering.
  • In‑depth knowledge of automotive quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949) and methodologies.
  • Proven experience with quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, DOE, and CAPA.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
