About the role

Our client, a dynamic player in the automotive industry, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Automotive Quality Engineer. This role is crucial for ensuring the highest standards of quality throughout the vehicle development and manufacturing lifecycle. The position is based at our advanced facility in **Bloemfontein, Free State, ZA**, and requires a strong on-site presence for direct collaboration with manufacturing and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems and procedures in accordance with automotive industry standards (e.g., IATF 16949). Lead and participate in quality audits, both internal and external. Analyze production data, identify root causes of quality issues, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Develop and manage quality control plans and inspection processes. Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure product quality from concept to launch. Oversee the testing and validation of components and systems to ensure they meet specifications. Manage supplier quality, including audits and performance monitoring. Train and mentor quality assurance staff and production personnel on quality standards and practices. Champion a culture of quality throughout the organization. Prepare quality reports, metrics, and documentation for management review. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements in automotive quality. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality engineering within the automotive manufacturing sector. In-depth knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and other relevant quality tools. Proven experience in root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and automotive components. Excellent analytical, statistical, and data interpretation skills. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience with quality management software and tools. A passion for automotive excellence and continuous improvement.
