Senior Aviation Network Security Engineer

Our client, a major player in the aviation industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Aviation Network Security Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role will be based in **Uyo, Akwa Ibom, NG**, with a hybrid work arrangement, offering a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust network security solutions to protect our critical aviation infrastructure from cyber threats. This includes safeguarding flight operations systems, air traffic control networks, and passenger data. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of network security principles, protocols, and technologies, with specific experience in the aviation sector being highly advantageous. You will conduct security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, develop mitigation strategies, and respond to security incidents. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate closely with IT infrastructure teams, cybersecurity analysts, and operational stakeholders to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of our network environment.Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain advanced network security solutions for aviation systems. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of network infrastructure. Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures. Monitor network traffic for security breaches and malicious activities. Respond to and investigate security incidents, providing detailed analysis and remediation plans. Collaborate with IT and operational teams to integrate security measures into new projects and systems. Stay current with emerging cyber threats and security technologies relevant to the aviation industry. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security personnel. Ensure compliance with relevant aviation security regulations and standards. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in network security engineering, with a significant portion in the aviation or critical infrastructure sector. In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and encryption technologies. Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems. Strong understanding of risk assessment and threat modeling methodologies. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCIE Security, or GIAC are highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing remote and on-site responsibilities.
