Senior Azure Cloud Plattform Engineer (m/w/d)

For our client in the insurance sector in Cologne, we are looking for Senior Azure Cloud Platform Engineers (m/f/d) as soon as possible.

The insurance company operates a modern Data & AI platform in the Azure Cloud with an Analytics Platform. This is currently used for the following purposes:

• Development and operation of AI systems (e.g., RAG applications)
• Hosting self-trained AI models
• Performing ad-hoc analyses on structured and unstructured data
• Development of data products
• Data integration and transformation for a separate data warehouse

As part of the IT transformation roadmap, support is needed for the further development and subsequent migration of the platform. This is a project-related permanent position (temporary employment) with a small on-site component.

Responsibilities

• Further development of the existing platform into a Lakehouse
• Support in the technical connection of further IT systems
• Support in the implementation of development processes for Lakehouse developers, taking into account DABs and Data Contracts
• Support in the automatic provisioning of authorization groups, monitoring dashboards, and incident routing mechanisms
• Preparation of existing Infrastructure-as-Code repositories and evaluation of existing assets
• Restoration of existing assets, data, and data pipelines in the new tenant
• Connection to peripheral systems, SIEM, and IAM
• Migration from GitLab CI/CD to GitHub Actions
• Decommissioning of cloud resources, processes, and assets in the old Azure tenant

Qualifications

• Sound experience in the development of modules and in Terraform state management
• Very good experience with test automation using Terraform Test
• Good knowledge of Entra ID, Azure Key Vault, and ADLS Gen2
• Experience in setting up networks, private links, and DNS
• Knowledge in the provisioning of Azure AI Foundry Services
• Deep understanding of authorization structures within Databricks with Unity Catalog
• Knowledge of Data Contracts
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD and/or GitHub Actions
• Very good German language skills complete your profile
