PANTA is a fintech startup building next-generation technology for the indexing and investment management industry . Our platform powers the creation, calculation and distribution of financial indices used by asset managers, ETF providers and financial institutions worldwide. We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer who enjoys solving complex engineering problems and building high-performance data systems. Key Responsibilities • Design and implement high-performance backend services for financial data processing and index calculations • Build and maintain Java/Kotlin microservices in a distributed architecture • Work with large datasets and develop efficient algorithms for portfolio and index calculations • Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers and product teams • Contribute to system architecture and technology decisions • Ensure high reliability, performance and scalability • Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices Required Skills & Experience • Strong (5-10years) experience with Java and/or Kotlin • Experience building microservice architectures • Solid understanding of distributed systems and performance optimization • Experience working with large data sets and data processing pipelines • Familiarity with cloud environments • Experience with REST APIs and event-driven architecture • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Preferred Qualifications • Experience in capital markets, asset management or fintech • Experience with index calculation, portfolio analytics or market data • Knowledge of stream processing or real-time systems • Experience with Angular or modern frontend frameworks • Cloud infrastructure experience What We Offer • Opportunity to shape a transformative fintech at a pivotal growth stage • Competitive base salary • Equity participation in a high-growth venture • Collaborative team of industry veterans and technology innovators • Modern, flexible work environment • Chance to redefine an entire industry’s infrastructure Location Flexible, with preference for Giessen/Frankfurt, Germany or London,UK.
