Senior Backend Developer

About

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer, Vienna on a contract basis to design, develop, and optimize high-performance, scalable backend systems in a distributed, high-transaction environment. This role involves working on real-time processing platforms, building resilient services, and delivering robust solutions with a strong focus on performance, accuracy, and reliability.

Key Skills

• 9+ years of experience in backend development using .NET Core / .NET Framework (C#)
• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using .NET Core (C#) for large-scale pool systems
• Develop solutions to handle massive spikes in transaction volume during major sporting events, ensuring zero downtime.
• Implement complex mathematical models for calculations, processing logic, and distribution systems
• Design and maintain scalable, high-performance backend architectures
• Strong experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database performance (SQL Server/PostgreSQL)
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and asynchronous programming
• Handle multi-threading, high concurrency, and race condition scenarios
• Ensure system resilience, fault tolerance, and reliability
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in live environments
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or Azure DevOps
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, and DevOps
• Follow secure coding practices, code quality standards, and engineering best practices
