Level AI is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer – AI Agents to join their fast‑growing team in Noida. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a critical role in building scalable backend systems that power Level AI's next‑generation AI Agents. These systems are crucial for delivering intelligent, production‑grade AI experiences in real‑time, high‑volume enterprise environments.

Role Overview

You will work at the intersection of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and AI‑powered applications, contributing to bringing agentic AI capabilities into production at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend architectures for Level AI's AI Agents and platform services.
• Collaborate with frontend, machine learning, product, and solutions teams to deliver end‑to‑end customer experiences.
• Improve system scalability, reliability, and availability in production environments.
• Optimize backend performance, including latency, throughput, and large‑scale data processing.
• Build and maintain robust APIs and service interfaces using REST/gRPC.
• Drive best practices in system design, observability, security, and cost optimization.
• Contribute to architectural decisions for scaling enterprise‑grade AI systems.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (top‑tier institutions preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in backend engineering, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong experience with API design and protocols such as REST and gRPC.
• Experience building scalable, high‑performance backend systems in production.
• Strong understanding of databases, including SQL and NoSQL, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Exposure to AI/ML systems, conversational AI, or agentic workflows is a strong plus.
