Backend Engineer (.NET / C#)

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer (.NET / C#) to join a high-performing engineering team delivering innovative, large-scale enterprise platforms on a contract basis in Vienna, Austria (1–2 days onsite). This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building high-performance systems, and working in a collaborative international environment. You will play a key role in designing and developing scalable backend services that power business-critical solutions, while contributing to modern engineering practices and continuous platform improvement.

Key Skills

• 5+ years of strong commercial experience with .NET / C#
• Hands-on experience with messaging platforms such as TIBCO, Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Solid knowledge of Design Patterns, SOLID principles and Dependency Injection
• Experience building scalable backend systems, APIs and microservices
• Proven experience in troubleshooting production issues, root cause analysis and live support
• Knowledge of performance optimisation and scalable application design
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments
• Strong communication, teamwork and stakeholder collaboration skills
