We facilitate Coinbase's mission of embracing the onchain world by implementing tools across various channels, including referral programs, an advanced notification system, an engaging logged-out web experience, and an optimized onboarding process for new users, ensuring that they are set for success from their first interaction with us.

What you'll do

• Design and run experiments to enhance growth for Coinbase's retail products.
• Create robust systems to address novel challenges using modern cloud technologies and best practices.
• Develop a long-term vision for the maintenance and scalability of our backend systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to convert our technical and product vision into a tangible quarterly roadmap.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code tailored to customer needs.

What we desire in you

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services within a service-oriented architecture.
• A proven ability to write high-quality, thoroughly tested code.
• A passion for creating an open financial system that connects the world.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience launching new products from concept to execution.
• Familiarity with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of blockchain technology (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum).
• Familiarity with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
• Experience developing fintech, highly reliable, and secure systems.
• Crypto-forward experience, including engagement with onchain activities, Ethereum addresses, ENS, and dApps or blockchain services.

Salary Information

The target annual base salary for this position ranges from $186,065 to $218,900 USD, depending on work location. Total compensation also includes eligibility for equity, bonuses, and benefits (such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
