What you'll be doing

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer in the Consumer Growth team, you'll be the guardian and architect of our users' first experience and long-term security. You will be responsible for the technical direction, reliability, and automation of the systems that define how millions of users join and interact with Satispay. By leading the evolution of our identity and onboarding services, you'll ensure a seamless, secure journey that impacts every other team in the ecosystem.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities

  • Lead onboarding automation: Master multi‑service orchestration to drive the technical execution of the onboarding journey, aiming to increase our current automation rate for new user activations through optimized background verifications.
  • Ensure security and identity integrity: Be part of the team securing the entire user lifecycle, improving the Anti‑ATO (Account Take Over) mechanisms and robust login flows to protect both user funds and data.
  • Drive process automation: Proactively identify technical bottlenecks in processes, driving backend solutions that replace manual back‑office tasks with automated workflows.
  • Guarantee integration resilience: Ensure our system remains reliable when integrating with external providers, leading strategies that prevent partner outages from impacting our users' registration flows and their app experience.
  • Oversee the full user lifecycle: Ensure the accuracy of the full user journey – from registration to data erasure – maintaining 100 % compliance with GDPR best practices and internal diligence standards.
  • Empower the ecosystem: You'll ensure that our services remain highly available and reliable, acting as the technical foundation for other PODs that depend on our data to power their features.
  • Foster technical growth and define engineering standards: Guide and mentor junior and mid‑level backend engineers, conducting high‑impact code reviews and sharing knowledge to ensure the team grows in technical ownership and engineering excellence.

Our tech stack includes (but is not limited to) PostgreSQL, Java, Spring Boot. We rely on AWS for our infrastructure, with microservices deployed on EC2/ECS, S3 for storage, AWS Lambda for serverless functions, and Kinesis and ElasticSearch for log streaming. You'll take ownership of your work from start to finish.

Who we're looking for

We need a proven problem‑solver who takes initiative, excels in cross‑team collaboration, and is a technical quality champion. Does it sound like you?

  • Extensive Experience: At least 5 years of related experience in back‑end software engineering, with a proven track record of working with microservices, cloud environments, and Agile methodologies.
  • Programming Expertise: Deep experience working with Java and a strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS is a plus).
  • Technical Leadership: Proven ability to drive knowledge sharing, mentor peers, and conduct technical analysis for large‑scope projects affecting multiple systems.
  • Structured Communication: Ability to communicate in a structured and convincing manner, adapting your style to build trust positively and professionally with various stakeholders, including coordinating implementation with other teams.
  • Passion and Language Skills: Passionate about FinTech or startup environments and fluent in English.
