Our client, a renowned leader in the beauty and wellness industry, is seeking a creative and experienced Senior Beauty Product Developer to spearhead skincare innovation from their Jos, Plateau, NG hub. This pivotal role involves conceptualizing, formulating, and launching new skincare products that align with market trends and consumer demands. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cosmetic chemistry, ingredient functionality, and regulatory requirements within the beauty sector. You will manage the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation and raw material sourcing to stability testing, consumer testing, and final production readiness. Collaboration with marketing, sales, and manufacturing teams is essential to ensure successful product launches. Key Responsibilities: Ideate and develop innovative skincare formulations that meet performance, aesthetic, and sensory targets. Research and identify new ingredients, technologies, and market trends to drive product innovation. Formulate and optimize cosmetic products, ensuring efficacy, stability, and safety. Conduct benchtop evaluations, stability testing, and compatibility studies. Collaborate with external contract manufacturers for scale-up and production. Oversee and interpret consumer testing panels to gather feedback and refine formulations. Ensure all product formulations comply with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., NAFDAC). Prepare technical documentation, including formulation briefs, ingredient lists, and manufacturing instructions. Work closely with marketing and branding teams to ensure product concepts align with brand strategy. Manage project timelines and budgets to ensure timely product launches. Provide technical support to quality control and manufacturing departments. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related scientific field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in beauty product development, with a strong emphasis on skincare. Proven track record of successfully launching innovative skincare products. In-depth knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, formulation techniques, and regulatory compliance. Experience with various skincare product types (e.g., serums, creams, cleansers, masks). Excellent laboratory skills and experience with analytical instrumentation. Strong understanding of skin biology and its interaction with cosmetic ingredients. Exceptional project management and organizational skills. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. This is a hybrid role, requiring a balance of remote work and on-site presence in our Jos, Plateau, NG facility.
