(Senior) BI Engineer (m/w/d)

For our client, a company based in the north of Düsseldorf, we are looking for a (Senior) BI Engineer (m/f/d) as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Close collaboration with other departments to gather requirements and develop data-driven solutions.
• Preparation and structuring of data for high-quality analyses is also part of the scope of duties.
• Planning, coordination, and implementation of interfaces between internal systems and those of external partners, including EDI, API, and event-based integrations.
• Development, implementation, and optimization of Power BI reports and semantic models for reporting applications.
• Responsibility for projects related to system introductions, the digital transformation of processes, and data integrations.
• The design of high-performance integration and automation solutions (ETL/ELT, APIs) contributes significantly to a stable and efficient system landscape.
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, integration guides, and training materials for internal and external stakeholders are part of the scope of duties.

Qualifications

• Completed degree or training in computer science or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of professional experience in system and/or data integration.
• In-depth knowledge in the EDI/EAI environment as well as in the integration of systems, data models, and modern technologies (e.g., REST, JSON, XML, EDIFACT).
• Very good knowledge of at least one SQL dialect.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI or comparable BI/reporting software, including data modeling, reporting, and data preparation.
• Knowledge of at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, C#, Java).
• Open, meticulous, and structured way of working.
• Strong communication skills.
• Teamwork skills as well as a high degree of reliability and sense of responsibility.
• Willingness to undertake occasional business trips to external locations to support and ensure support for all employees.
