Senior Big Data / Mobile Security Engineer (Telecom Domain)

Job Summary

We're hiring a Senior Big Data / Mobile Security Engineer to join our team on-site in Ashburn, VA. In this role, you'll design and build scalable big data solutions that power our fraud and revenue assurance platforms, while also analyzing mobile application behavior particularly around OTP-based authentication to identify bypass vulnerabilities and strengthen telecom revenue and security. You'll work with large-scale telecom datasets to detect anomalies, improve system performance, and partner with cross-functional teams to integrate advanced analytics and Machine Learning into our service offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable big data applications using Apache Spark

• Build and optimize data pipelines in Java and Python for large-scale data processing

• Analyze mobile application behavior with a focus on OTP workflows, authentication mechanisms, and security controls

• Identify signatures in OTP implementations and recommend improvements

• Work with telecom datasets for analytics and fraud detection

• Perform ingestion, transformation, and processing of structured and unstructured data

• Tune Spark jobs for performance, scalability, and reliability

• Collaborate with security, network, and product teams to enhance our RA/FM platforms

• Apply mobile debugging, network traffic analysis, and reverse engineering tools as needed

• Troubleshoot issues, support product implementations, and uphold data engineering and security best practices across the development lifecycle

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in big data engineering, mobile security, or a closely related field

• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Spark

• Proficiency in Java and Python

• Experience with distributed data processing and ETL pipeline development

• Solid understanding of mobile application behavior and authentication flows, especially OTP systems

• Prior experience in the telecommunications domain

• Familiarity with telecom technologies such as GSM, LTE/4G, 5G, and messaging systems (SMS/OTP)

• Experience handling large-scale telecom data for analytics, monitoring, or fraud detection

• Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and the full software development lifecycle

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with big data ecosystems such as Hadoop, Hive, and Kafka

• Familiarity with mobile security testing tools, network sniffing, and debugging techniques

• Exposure to fraud detection systems or cybersecurity frameworks

• Understanding of data modeling and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow)

Pay: $85,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
