About the Opportunity
A growing technology integration and low-voltage systems contractor is seeking a BIM Coordinator / BIM Manager to support complex commercial projects across multiple sectors. This role is ideal for a mid-level BIM professional ready to take ownership of coordination efforts while continuing to grow into a broader leadership and standards-management position.
The position will work closely with project management, engineering, field operations, and external trade partners to develop and manage coordinated BIM models and construction documentation for structured cabling, security, audiovisual, DAS, and related low-voltage systems.
Projects range from smaller fast-paced deployments around $300K to large-scale programs up to $5M–$10M.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and coordinate BIM models for low-voltage and technology systems
- Produce coordinated shop drawings, installation drawings, and as-built documentation
- Participate in clash detection and coordination meetings with GCs, consultants, and trade partners
- Manage model updates throughout project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout
- Support field teams with layout, coordination, and constructability reviews
- Collaborate with estimating, engineering, and operations teams during project planning
- Help establish and improve BIM standards, workflows, and documentation processes
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously with varying complexity and schedules
- Review project specifications and drawings to identify coordination risks and opportunities
- Mentor junior drafting/modeling staff as the team grows
- Assist leadership with BIM strategy, process improvement, and technology adoption initiatives
Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of BIM/VDC experience within construction, low-voltage, MEP, or specialty contracting
- Strong working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and related BIM coordination tools
- Experience supporting commercial construction projects in active coordination environments
- Understanding of structured cabling, security, audiovisual, or other low-voltage systems preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications
- Familiarity with clash detection, coordination workflows, and construction sequencing
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments and project teams
- Experience with ACC/BIM 360 and point layout workflows is a plus
- Leadership potential with interest in helping shape BIM standards and processes

Location & Work Environment
The position is based in the New York City market. The role is predominantly remote, with occasional site visits, coordination meetings, and in-person collaboration required based on project needs and milestones.
