Senior Business Analyst

Our client, a leading organization in the financial services sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Business Analyst to spearhead critical projects. This role is based in Bloemfontein and operates on a hybrid model, offering a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility. The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and managing business requirements for complex software development and system implementation projects. This involves working closely with stakeholders across various departments, including IT, operations, marketing, and finance, to gather detailed requirements, identify potential challenges, and propose effective solutions. You will play a key role in defining project scope, facilitating workshops, and creating comprehensive documentation such as use cases, user stories, process flows, and functional specifications. A significant aspect of this role involves working within an Agile/Scrum framework, collaborating with development teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of software functionalities. You will be expected to conduct thorough analysis of existing systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement and efficiency gains. Furthermore, you will be involved in user acceptance testing (UAT) planning and execution, ensuring that the delivered solutions meet the defined business needs and quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

• Elicit, analyze, document, and manage business requirements for various projects.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and interviews to gather detailed requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear and concise functional specifications and user stories.
• Develop process maps, use cases, and data models to illustrate system functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, and product owners.
• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).
• Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure solutions meet business objectives.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior business analysts.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a Senior role.
• Proven experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
• Experience in the financial services industry is a strong asset.
• Understanding of SDLC and various project management approaches.
