Your Role

Do you want to shape the digital transformation in defense and public security? As a Senior Business Analyst Defense (w/m/d) at Capgemini, you will lead end-to-end business analysis in the German Armed Forces, authorities, and defense industry. You will be a trusted advisor for CIOs and IT managers, develop roadmaps, and orchestrate programs that make organizations fit for the digital future.

This position can be filled full-time or part-time.

Together, we will select the focus areas that match your profile and our defense priorities.

  • End-to-End Business Analysis in Defense Programs: You will lead the structuring, analysis, and visualization of the current and future business landscape, derive business capabilities, processes, and requirements, and translate them into viable solution scenarios (including functional architecture).
  • Contribute Domain Expertise: You will use your defense know-how to connect the requirements of operational users (troops/authorities/industry) with technical possibilities (cloud, data, AI, etc.). You will also serve as an internal multiplier to empower colleagues.
  • Stakeholder & Change Leadership: You will moderate workshops, prioritize backlogs, orchestrate heterogeneous stakeholders (authorities/industry/partners), and accompany business change until go-live.
  • Pre-Sales & Proposal Work: You will support the creation of compelling proposals in defense tenders with BA artifacts, effort estimations, and solution contributions.
  • Community & Thought Leadership: Within the BA community and our defense formats, you will share best practices, further develop methods, and represent Capgemini in the ecosystem.

Your Profile

  • Several years of professional experience as a Business Analyst (or in related roles such as Product Owner / Business Solution Designer) in IT/digital programs.
  • Defense background (at least one of the following paths): Industry, Public Sector, or Armed Forces / Officer career.
  • Domain-specific expertise in at least one sub-area (e.g., operations/command support, logistics chains & maintenance, sensorics/ISR, PLM/ALM, cyber security processes).
  • Method and modeling competence in Business Analysis (e.g., Requirements Engineering, Process/Data Modeling, Functional Architecture, Business Case).
  • Stakeholder Management & Change Enablement: Moderation, conflict resolution, storytelling, organizational/process change.
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
  • Nice to have: Knowledge of agile scaling frameworks (Scrum, SAFe), tools (Jira/Confluence, BPMN/UML), MBSE/ALM/PLM (e.g., Siemens, IBM), Data & AI (e.g., Data Governance/DCAM), Project Management (e.g., PRINCE 2, IPMA).
  • Willingness to undergo security screening according to SÜG; willingness to travel – primarily within the DACH region.
