Roles & Responsibilities
Healthcare Systems Experience (Must Have)
- Contribute to the systems analysis, design, or implementation of provincial Electronic Health Record (EHR) solutions (e.g., Alberta Netcare) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems used in community physician offices.
- Ensure solutions align with healthcare workflows, regulatory requirements, and interoperability standards.
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
- Plan, organize, and facilitate requirements gathering workshops with operational teams, clinical staff, leadership, and other key stakeholder groups.
- Elicit, analyze, validate, and document business requirements using a wide range of techniques, including:
- Stakeholder interviews
- Document analysis
- Requirements workshops
- Surveys and questionnaires
- Site visits and observations
- Business process descriptions
- Use cases, scenarios, and process modeling
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure accurate understanding of business needs.
Business & Technical Translation
- Translate high‑level business requirements into detailed functional and technical requirements suitable for enterprise IT environments.
- Ensure requirements are clear, complete, testable, and aligned with organizational and project goals.
- Support solution design by validating requirements against technical feasibility and business outcomes.
Solution Design & Implementation Support
- Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of complex IT solutions, including enterprise‑scale systems.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and vendors to ensure solutions meet defined requirements and technical standards.
- Participate in systems analysis activities related to integration, data flows, and solution architecture.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Plan, support, and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities within large, complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
- Develop UAT test scenarios, scripts, and acceptance criteria based on business requirements.
- Coordinate defect tracking, resolution, and sign‑off with business users and technical teams.
Value‑Added Responsibilities
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Lead and support stakeholder engagement and vendor coordination, providing business and technical leadership across cross‑functional teams.
- Work closely with third‑party vendors to support system integrations and interface development.
- Manage dependencies and communicate effectively across internal and external teams.
Change Management & Impact Analysis
- Conduct change impact analysis to assess impacts on people, processes, systems, and data.
- Support change management initiatives by identifying risks, mitigation strategies, and training considerations.
Systems Integration & Data Management
- Contribute to the analysis, development, and integration of complex IT systems, with a strong focus on:
- Multiple data sources
- Web services and APIs
- Legacy IT systems
- Support data flow analysis and integration requirements across interconnected platforms.
