About the role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Business Analyst with a strong background in the financial services industry to join their team. This role is based in Welkom, Free State and offers a hybrid working arrangement, providing flexibility while maintaining essential team collaboration. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions, eliciting requirements, analyzing processes, and designing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and client services. The ideal candidate possesses excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a deep understanding of banking, insurance, or investment platforms.

Responsibilities: Elicit, document, and analyze business requirements from various stakeholders across different departments. Translate business needs into detailed functional and non-functional specifications for IT solutions. Conduct gap analysis between current and future state processes and systems. Design and model business processes, workflows, and system integrations. Facilitate workshops and meetings with business users and technical teams to gather requirements and validate solutions. Develop use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria for software development. Support the testing phase by developing test cases, assisting testers, and validating solutions against requirements. Liaise between business stakeholders and development teams to ensure clear communication and understanding. Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend technology-enabled solutions. Contribute to project planning, risk assessment, and change management activities. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in business analysis and financial services technology. Mentor junior business analysts and contribute to the development of best practices within the BA team. Ensure all solutions align with regulatory requirements and compliance standards within the financial sector. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a significant focus on the financial services sector (banking, insurance, investment management). Proven experience in requirements elicitation, documentation, and analysis. Strong understanding of financial products, services, and regulatory landscapes. Proficiency in business process modeling tools (e.g., BPMN) and techniques. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities. Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies. Experience with systems such as core banking systems, trading platforms, or insurance policy administration systems is highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
