Software Engineer (m/f/d) Connectivity
Enabl Tech
About the role
Your Mission
We at enabl bring AI into the physical world. While everyone is talking about automating office jobs, we are solving the biggest problem in logistics: 25 million industrial vehicles worldwide are still manually controlled today.
With our hybrid system, we combine the intelligence of experienced drivers with state-of-the-art automation. We learn from every deployment and make our systems smarter step by step. Leading industrial groups from logistics, automotive, and consumer goods already rely on our technology.
Become part of our team and help us shape the roadmap to autonomous intralogistics. In this role, you will work on the "nervous system" of our technology – the software that ensures stable and low-latency data transmission, so that our forklifts can be remotely controlled safely and in real-time across Europe.
Our Offer
- Maximum flexibility: Work where you are most productive. We enable full remote (within the DACH region) with only 1-2 days of presence per month for team syncs in our Karlsruhe office.
- Impact & Ownership: In our dynamic startup environment with flat hierarchies, you will actively contribute to the technological roadmap for autonomous intralogistics – your ideas will flow directly into the product.
- The enabl package: Look forward to a well-coordinated team, regular team events, a job ticket or free parking, as well as a fully equipped kitchen with snacks and drinks.
- Cutting-Edge Environment: We offer you a modern working environment including our own test hall directly at the office and the necessary high-end equipment for developing complex real-time systems.
- Direct participation: In addition to an attractive salary, you will participate directly in the long-term success and growth of enabl through our Employee Participation Plan (VSOP).
Your Tasks
- You develop our software stack in Modern C++ and Python, which ensures stable communication between remote-controlled vehicles and remote stations.
- You ensure that video streams and control data run reliably even under changing network conditions – from code to live testing on the vehicle.
- You analyze connection problems from the field and implement sustainable solutions directly in the code.
- You build test infrastructures and CI pipelines with which we can automatically simulate network scenarios.
- You actively shape the technological roadmap of our connectivity stack.
Your Profile
You bring solid C++ experience and have already gotten your hands dirty in at least one of these areas: network or wireless development, real-time systems, video pipelines (e.g. GStreamer) or robotics (e.g. ROS2). You will learn the rest with us.
- Tech Foundation: You have at least 5 years of professional experience and feel completely at home in Modern C++ and Python under Linux.
- System Thinker & Doer: You not only evaluate problems at the feature level but also understand the big picture ("zoom out") and recognize solutions even through detours. You pursue goals independently and do not need micromanagement.
- Language: You communicate confidently in English and have basic German skills (basics) – coupled with the motivation to further develop them in everyday team life.
- Cherry on top: Your application will get a star if you have initial experience with DevOps, Cloud Engineering, automated testing, or Embedded Linux.
