Senior Category Manager (m/w/d)

About the Company

For one of our clients – an international and rapidly growing retail company in the Frankfurt area – we are looking for an experienced Senior Category Manager (m/f/d) as soon as possible.

About the Role

We are not looking for a purely administrative role, but for a personality with a real passion for retail, negotiation skills, and the ambition to actively contribute to the further development of an existing product and assortment area. The position offers the opportunity to strategically build and shape a new segment within an established corporate environment in the long term.

Responsibilities

• Strategic responsibility for defined product groups in the retail environment
• Development and implementation of category and assortment strategies
• Analysis of market, competitor, and KPI data
• Conducting supplier and annual negotiations at eye level
• Identification of new trends, products, and growth potentials
• Close cooperation with internal stakeholders from purchasing, sales, and marketing
• Contribution to the further development of existing retail concepts

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in category management or strategic purchasing
• Retail/trade experience is a must-have
• Experience in supplier negotiations and assortment management
• Entrepreneurial thinking and hands-on mentality
• Feel for trends, markets, and consumer behavior
• Confident use of ERP and analysis tools
• Very good German and English skills

Required Skills

• Several years of experience in category management or strategic purchasing
