Senior Civil Engineer

Our client, a respected engineering consultancy, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join their fully remote team. This position requires a deep understanding of infrastructure design, project management, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and executing complex civil engineering projects, including transportation, water resources, and land development. You will manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions that meet client needs and industry standards. Key responsibilities include performing engineering calculations, preparing design drawings and specifications, conducting site investigations, and obtaining necessary permits. This role demands excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong leadership and communication abilities to effectively coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, water systems, and drainage. Perform complex engineering calculations and analysis for structural integrity, hydraulics, and geotechnical aspects. Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports using CAD software and other relevant tools. Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion. Conduct site investigations, surveys, and feasibility studies to gather necessary project data. Obtain permits and approvals from relevant regulatory agencies. Coordinate with clients, contractors, government officials, and other stakeholders to ensure project success. Review construction plans and provide technical support during the construction phase. Ensure compliance with all applicable engineering codes, standards, and regulations. Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff. Stay current with advancements in civil engineering technology and best practices. Contribute to business development by identifying new project opportunities and assisting in proposal preparation. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution. Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project management. Proficiency in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation) and hydraulic modeling software. Strong understanding of transportation engineering, water resources, or land development principles. Proven experience managing complex infrastructure projects from conception to completion. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment. Experience with environmental regulations and permitting processes.
